Nearing its second decade, the 2012 Lost Mountain is ageing gracefully into wine of polish and poise.  The story of a relatively cool and long growing season is shown by the bright core of red and black bramble fruits supported by supple, velvety tannins.   With a layered savory complexity starting to unfold, the wine still has the fresh backbone that should improve over the next 5-7 years and hold for another decade.

The 2013 Lost Mountain shows the impressive warmth and generosity of this hot growing season.  It is powerfully concentrated and is still showcasing its primary black berry core with a touch of beautiful smoky tobacco and earthy complexity starting to develop.  Rich and concentrated, with an impressive tannic backbone, it should support another 10 years of development and hold for an additional 5 years.

This was a long, crisp and beautiful growing season that tips its hat to the classic understated elegance of Bordeaux.   Quite closed on its release and still slowly uncoiling itself, the 2014 Lost Mountain has a linearity and focus that we proudly offer to those who lean towards Old-World wines.  Gravelly cassis and a touch of savory graphite define the wine's personality, which is supported by a brisk acidity and streamlined tannins that should warrant decades more cellaring potential.

Plush yet approachable, the 2015 Lost Mountain has been appealing since its release and continues to be a crowd pleaser.   The warm, dry season provides a resolved structure focused on silky, coated tannins and a ripe black currant backbone all supported by a well-integrated refreshing acidity.   A lovely wine for immediate appeal, yet with enough concentration and depth to continue to show well over the next 10-15 years.
